In Occitan, we speak of “ Male peyre”, meaning “the bad stone”...

The Malepère located in the heart of the Cathar Hills is the western part of the massif, where we find the “Wood of the Chapter”. This area is characteristic of a double influence both oceanic and Mediterranean, translated in its landscapes and its many botanical species, among which there are a great variety of oaks.
